347 Stainless Steel
347 Stainless Steel alloy, with its columbium and tantalum content, is a stabilized stainless steel. This provides exceptional intergranular corrosion resistance. Type 347 can be used continuously at temperatures anywhere from 800° F to 1500° F. In aqueous environments and low temperature environments, alloy 347 has a distinct advantage over type 321. 347 Stainless steel alloy is most often used in high temperature environments, most notably, rocket engine parts, exhaust manifolds, and chemical production equipment. For hardening this stainless steel, cold reduction is recommended.
